Both students and professors offer a valuable perspective on the world's culinary tourism industry. Some academics investigate culinary tourist demographics and psychographics, while others analyze consumer behavior in marketing or spending. Some research is completed in weeks, while other research takes years to complete. Every research project is necessarily different. The Association is committed to your success in many ways.
INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING The Association offers students and professors a forum in which to publish your original research. First we can publicize your research in one of our monthly newsletters. Once a critical mass has been reached of interest in the academic/research component of culinary tourism, the Association is prepared to organize and distribute a regular newsletter dedicated to culinary tourism in academia.
The Association also offers students and professors the opportunity to participate in original research that the Association conducts, or is asked to conduct.
Lastly, students and professors are invited to submit proposals of chapters for a revised Culinary Tourism: The Hidden Harvest (2nd edition). The book is oriented towards the business world, so it is not a summary of recent culinary tourism research. However, the book welcomes contributions that showcase the application of culinary tourism research findings in the everyday business world. Please contact us if you are interested in submitting content. CULINARY SCHOOLS AND CLASSES Are you enrolled in a culinary program or perhaps you instruct in a culinary program? The Association can help you in different ways.
For culinary students, you might find one of our internships of interest, or perhaps you might be interested in writing for FoodTrekker.com. Showcase your experience and expertise with a particular cuisine to the traveling public and receive a link to your FoodTrekker profile after your review.
For culinary instructors, the Association would be pleased to work with you to incorporate a seminar or other portion of your curriculum dedicated to the understanding of culinary tourism and to support your efforts to educate how foodservice is an important part of the hospitality sector. Please contact us for more information.
