Internships PDF Print E-mail

The Association offers internships to qualified students around the world with an interest in the culinary tourism industry. While our headquarters and office are located in beautiful Portland, Oregon (USA), we maintain a global footprint with contacts, interests and operations all around the globe.

We realize it may not be feasible for a student to relocate to Portland for a semester, which is why the Association offers Virtual Internships. The Virtual Internship program runs a number of internships that last on average 12 weeks during an academic term. Internships can be customized to a student's specific interest and area of study, or students can choose from our most popular internship offerings below. Internships are unpaid but students may be eligible for academic credit through their institution.

Every intern is partnered with a member of the Association staff. The staff member and intern agree on the scope of the project before the internship begins. During the course of the internship, the staff member and intern communicate on a weekly basis to make sure that any questions are answered and that the student is learning. At the end of the internship, the student completes the project and receives a letter from the Association, which may be used to receive credit at an academic institution. Exceptional candidates may also receive letters of recommendation to assist with their job search.
